I set out to capture the Blood Moon through my Maksutov MC 10/1000 from Kronsberg, a small hill near Hannover, Germany.
Since the Moon rose already deep within Earth’s shadow, I chose an elevated vantage point to maximize my chances of a clear view and gather those precious photons.
What I hadn’t anticipated was how challenging precise focusing becomes in such low-light conditions—especially when even a Bahtinov mask has little to work with.
